I've had a busy week!!


Lots of fun though. Here's what I've done (that's interesting lol) ...



Thursday:


I rode BC on the trail. It was really fun on the way up, but the trail is gutted and awful from all the rain we had this Winter and it was near impossible to get down the mountain. BC took very good care of me though. =)

Saturday:


I rode Jove in a really fun lesson!! We did a whole bunch of turns and reverses on the haunches at the walk, trot, and canter!! We both had a blast. Jove used to be a dressage horse, so he was good at all this stuff. Then we jumped a double bounce! It was so fun!! And it was worming day. That was a whole lot of fun... lol =)

Clinic Report

The clinic was AWESOME!! I learned a lot and I feel a lot more prepared for the upcoming shows.

Things I learned...

• I learned that when i post, my lower legs get really loose and i tend to kick out as i rise. I fixed this by loosening by calf muscle and it worked really well!!
• Also, I learned that if Jove looks at a jump and I look at it too, he will refuse it every time. But whenever i look past the jump, confidently, he will jump it every time, even if he's not sure about it.
• OH also, I learned that it's important to be elastic and stretchy, but make it comfortable.

The early morning was so worth it.

I've got a show near the end of March. I hope this clinic helps!! =)

Yeah, it's been almost a month since I've last posted something. However, one of my new year's resolutions is to blog more often.

*Note: these pictures were taken after a lot of the mud had dried up. Plus, the pictures look better that it actually was.

This rain just comes right when there is hope that things might be dry. The poor horses are standing in all of the mud and slush.

Rain and Coldness

It's raining and it's cold. This is soooo COOL! I love the rain, except that i can't ride when it's raining and the arena is muddy. I'll try to get some pictures on Saturday of the wetness at the barn!!

Oh!! It's called rain!!

I looked up this strange wet thing and found that it's good and called rain! It's kinda fun and I like it.


Yes, I know what rain is. Sarcasm is difficult to show in writing. ;-) Too much mud comes with rain though. The poor horses were ankle deep in mud (they live outside). However, it was a REALLY nice change from the heat we've had over the summer!!

Halloween Picture

Jove was a warlock for Halloween. :-)

I know, It's taken me a LONG time.

But oh well! I've been really busy lately. The show was great! Jove was awesome and I'm so proud of him! We didn't get any first places, but we did get a few third places! The poor thing was so tired by the end though. I can't believe show seasons over now! Jove and I will get to practice for months. I can't wait for the cold to come back! All the horses are getting fluffy and soft. It's great!
I'll try to post more often from now on. :-)

It's Show Time!!!

I'm going to a show on Sunday and I can't wait!! It'll be fun. I might have some pictures posted from the show sometime next week. I'll keep ya posted.

What am I working on?

Jumping straight!! Jove always jumps to the right so I sm trying to get him to jump correctly. Hopefully, this will be more comfortable for him and he will jump straight by himself. I'm also working on making him parallel to the rail in the arena while being off the rail so he doesn't buldge. There's so many things to remember and I keep getting left behind when we jump because I'm working so hard making him straight!!!! I'll get it eventually. :-)

Clinic!!

I'm finally posting again, yay!!! So, anyway, there was a clinic at the barn on Saturday. It went really, really well! Jove was perfect, except for a couple refusals at some brightly painted jumps, but he was still really good. I learned a lot too. First, I'm sticking my elbows to the side to much and I really need to work on my heels. Also, my leg is really icky in the sitting trot, but Jove's trot is REALLY bouncy. We even had other barns come to join the fun! Nobody wanted it to be really hot and we were in luck because rained!! Everyone was so happy :-).For lunch we had a big potluck and then the local judge who ran the clinic gave all of us a lecture on show turnout, etiquette, and what a judge likes to see in the show ring. This time, I did remember my camera so... here are the pictures!! (I only have ones from the ground though)

There was this really cute gray pony in the bottom arena that rolled and rolled and rolled!! He was so dirty by the time he was done.

This is one of the jumps that we painted. It was quite spooky with the yellow and the leaves.

This was when Jove was all done and deserved his lunch and a well deserved rest.

Let's hope I can remember to post more often!! I'm going to another show soon, so I'll have stuff from that!

Trail Ride!!!!

I went on a really fun trail ride yesterday with a few other people. It was sooooooooooo FUN!! I rode Gus in my new bareback pad. He is SUCH an awesomely amazing trail horse! I didn't bring my camera so I don't have any pictures. I really need to stop forgetting it. Anyway, I will post more stuff tomorrow. Stay tuned!
